Participatory Trips

Combining short-term volunteer work with travel can be a rewarding experience, allowing you, in a limited amount of time, to get to know people and their culture from the inside out.

Exoeriences are one or two weeks long where participants are paired with local organizations where they volunteer Monday to Friday. HOY matches participants depending on their interests and offers multiple volunteer options. Weekend tourist activities and cultural experiences are also available.

The week-long program with a welcome and orientation meeting with HOY staff. Each of the following weekdays combines community work with alternative sightseeing of the area. The program ends after a formal recap and goodbye with HOY representatives.

 

Minimum requirements: 18 years of age,minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Basic Spanish and travel insurance highly recommended.
