Participatory Trips

Dates/Prices/Registration

Combining short-term volunteer work with travel can be a rewarding experience, allowing you, in a limited amount of time, to get to know people and their culture from the inside out.

HOY organizes participatory trips in Cuernavaca for individuals, with accommodations at its hostel, Casa HOY. Trips are one or two weeks long and occur during designated weeks of the month (see below). Participants are paired with local organizations where they volunteer Monday to Friday. HOY matches participants depending on their interests and offers multiple volunteer options. Weekend tourist activities and cultural experiences are also available.

The week-long program starts on Sunday with a welcome and orientation meeting with HOY staff. Each of the following weekdays combines community work with alternative sightseeing of the area. The program ends Friday night after a formal recap and goodbye with HOY representatives. On Saturday, participants depart.

Please contact us AT LEAST 6 weeks in advance of the date you wish to start to confirm availability. We will then send you the registration form and related documents to fill out.
