Pata
de perro is Mexican slang for “traveler,” but
in
HOY’s terms refers to a multitudinous “army” of
backpackers working for a better society while on the
road. Pata
de Perro is a global network of people, putting backpackers, friends
and organizations in touch with one another to share advice, experiences
and information about different ways to change the world.
Pata de Perro in Action
To be a Pata de Perro
just incorporate the following points into your travel plans:
Think
of what type of community work you would like to do during your trip.
Before
you set off, make contact with individuals and organizations through
this forum, your own friends and acquaintances, the Internet, books,
etc.
Document
your project (with photos, drawings, a journal).
Get
other backpackers to adopt the Pata de Perro philosophy.
Promote
multiculturalism, cooperation and peace.
The Pata de Perro Forum is for
all travelers who want to share information and experiences on planning
a trip, volunteer work with projects and NGOs, cool places to visit
and other tips for the road. Good luck on your journey!
