Por un mejor HOY is a U.S. nonprofit based in Cuernavaca, Mexico, whose mission is to create bridges between underserved communities and international visitors, enabling both sides to together reach lasting positive development. By linking the socially-aware traveler as a volunteer with local programs, HOY contributes to community growth; provides personally enriching experiences; and promotes cross-cultural travels, an exchange of knowledge and skills, multiculturalism, cooperation and peace.

HOY aims to achieve positive change by utilizing travel and community work to the advantage of underprivileged communities. Through the participation of the community and outside volunteers, HOY strives to integrate diverse thoughts, colors, languages and human experiences.

HOY turns travel into a multidimensional “tool,” with the ultimate goal of fostering WORLD PEACE.

What are Por un mejor HOY’s goals?

Through participatory trips, Por un mejor HOY (“For a better today” in Spanish) creates a space for encounter and exchange of knowledge among different people and cultures for mutual enrichment, support and cooperation. Among its many tasks, HOY works to:

promote among travelers community involvement through volunteerism
develop with the community projects and workshops designed to meet specific needs
share a message of multiculturalism, diversity, understanding and peace through cross-cultural exchanges
foster and encourage participatory travel.
